Q-par Angus offers a range of All Weather
Positioners based around a single design.
The positioners have been designed to
operate with reflectors of up to 4.5 m in
diameter. The positioner can cover ‘whole sky’
and can be used for surveillance, tracking
and SIGINT as well as other signal/tracking
purposes. The positioners are equipped with
brakes on all axes in occurrence of power
failure.
The positioner is available with an extra locking
button on the elevation designed to lock the yoke
vertically when using the positioner in high wind
situations. It is also possible for the positioner to
be fitted with peltier coolers, heaters and an air
dryer may be incorporated if required for demanding
weather conditions.

Controller
A Servo Controller Unit is used for each axis. The positioner is controlled via a
single RS232 connection (others available on request) which is primarily designed
to be controlled by our Graphic User Interface (GUI). Please see page 3 for
details of the GUI.
Antenna Controller System & Graphic User Interface (GUI)
The GUI controller Illustrated above facilitates :

  • Independent control of multiple positioners
  • Target store and recall
  • Workspace save and load
  • Use of serial ports or network connection to controllers
  • Surveillance and sector scan
  • Use of maps as an operational aid
